Sulfur Granulation Production Line

LANE provides customized sulfur granulation production lines for processing sulfur powder and molten sulfur into uniform, easy-to-handle solid granules.

We offer two main sulfur granulation processes: dry powder granulation using double roller or rotary drum granulators, and molten sulfur granulation using steel belt cooling technology.

Each production line is designed according to raw material conditions, production capacity, granule size requirements, and plant layout.

1. Two Sulfur Granulation Processes

Choose the Right Sulfur Granulation Process

Different sulfur raw materials require different granulation methods. LANE offers two production solutions to meet the processing requirements of sulfur powder and molten sulfur.

01. Dry Powder Sulfur Granulation

Sulfur Powder as Raw Material

Uses double roller compaction or rotary drum granulation technology to process sulfur powder into solid granules.

2. Dry Powder Sulfur Granulation

Dry Powder Sulfur Granulation Production Line

The dry powder sulfur granulation process uses sulfur powder as the main raw material. Depending on the required granule characteristics and production conditions, LANE offers two granulation options: double roller compaction granulation and rotary drum granulation.

The production process transforms fine sulfur powder into solid granules that are easier to store, transport, and use.

Option A: Double Roller Compaction Granulation

Sulfur-Granulation-Production-Line

Double roller granulation uses two counter-rotating rollers to compress sulfur powder under high pressure. The material is compacted into flakes or sheets, which are then crushed, screened, and returned for further processing if necessary.

Main Features:

  • No additional liquid binder is required under suitable material conditions.

  • Compact granules with relatively high mechanical strength.

  • Continuous production with a compact equipment layout.

  • Recyclable undersized and oversized materials.

Option B: Rotary Drum Granulation

Rotary drum granulation uses a rotating drum to continuously roll and agglomerate sulfur powder into granules. With appropriate moisture or binder addition, fine particles gradually build up into larger granules during the rolling process.

Main Features:

  • Continuous granulation operation.

  • Adjustable granule size through process parameter control.

  • Suitable for large-scale continuous production.

  • Integrated material feeding and screening solutions.

3. Molten Sulfur Granulation

Molten Sulfur Steel Belt Cooling Granulation Production Line

For plants that have access to molten sulfur, LANE provides a steel belt cooling granulation solution.

In this process, molten sulfur is evenly distributed onto a continuously moving stainless steel cooling belt through a specially designed distribution system. As the belt moves forward, the molten sulfur is cooled and solidified. The finished sulfur granules or pastilles are then discharged and collected.

This process eliminates the need to first convert molten sulfur into powder, providing a direct solution for molten sulfur solidification and granulation.

Working Process

  • Molten Sulfur Feeding: Molten sulfur is transferred to the distribution system under controlled temperature conditions.

  • Uniform Distribution: The molten sulfur is evenly deposited onto the moving steel belt.

  • Cooling & Solidification: The cooling system removes heat from the sulfur, allowing it to solidify.

  • Product Discharge: Solidified sulfur particles are separated from the belt and collected.

  • Finished Product Handling: The finished granules are conveyed to storage or packaging equipment.

Main Features

  • Direct processing of molten sulfur.

  • Continuous steel belt cooling and solidification.

  • Uniform product shape through controlled distribution.

  • No need for a separate powder preparation stage.

  • Automated material conveying and finished product collection.

  • Customized cooling and conveying configurations.

7. Frequently Asked Questions

Sulfur Granulation Production Line FAQ

Q1: What are the two main sulfur granulation methods?

LANE provides dry powder sulfur granulation using double roller or rotary drum granulators, and molten sulfur granulation using steel belt cooling technology.

Q2: Can sulfur powder be processed directly into granules?

Yes. Sulfur powder can be processed using double roller compaction or rotary drum granulation. The appropriate process depends on the raw material properties and desired granule characteristics.

Q3: What is the difference between roller granulation and drum granulation?

Roller granulation forms granules through mechanical compression, while drum granulation uses continuous rolling and agglomeration. They have different requirements for raw material conditions and finished product characteristics.

Q4: How does molten sulfur granulation work?

Molten sulfur is evenly distributed onto a moving steel belt. It is then cooled and solidified before being discharged as solid sulfur particles.

Q5: Can LANE customize a sulfur granulation production line?

Yes. We customize production line configurations according to raw material conditions, required capacity, finished particle size, and available factory space.
